Graduation

The Palo Verde High School 2016 Commencement Ceremony has been scheduled for Monday, June 6, 2016 at 9:00 am at Thomas & Mack.

The new high school graduation requirements starting with the class of 2016 or 10th graders as well as important test dates for the 2014-15 school year can be found in the link below.

Current Students: Fill out a request form located in the registrar’s office. Transcript will be ready within 24-48 hours. Please bring a photo ID when transcript is ready for pickup.

Palo Verde Graduates/Non-Enrolled: It’s simple, speedy, and secure! Transcript requests will be processed within 10 business days. Just go to http://transcripts.ccsd.net.

Scholarships

All scholarship have application deadlines that must be met.

Ms. Dambro is the College Counselor and Scholarship Coordinator. To receive text messages, from Ms. Dambro, on current Scholarship and College informations,just click the link below to sign-up.

The Education Support Employees Association (ESEA) offers a scholarship for seniors who have a parent who has been an ESEA member for at least one year. Applicants will be considered based on grades, financial need, and an interview. Deadline is May 16, 2016. See the attached application for more information.

This scholarship is for young women who have at least a 3.0 GPA and plan to attend college in Nevada. Please see the attached application. Deadline is May 1, 2016.

Below is a link to get the most up to date scholarship information provided by the Clark County School District.

This $500 scholarship is for a student with at least a 2.0 GPA. A brief essay and two letters of recommendation are required. See Ms. Dambro in the Counseling Office for the application. Deadline is April 23, 2016

CCSNO provides a scholarship for students who plan to major in nursing. Applicants must have a 3.0 unweighted GPA and the intention of earning a BSN. See the attached application for more information. Deadline is April 15, 2016.

Three $4,000 scholarships will be awarded to a student who lives in Summerlin, has participated in community service, and has earned at least a 3.3 unweighted GPA. See Ms. Dambro in the Counseling Office for the application.Deadline is May 24, 2016.

There are many scholarships for students with hearing, vision, physical, and learning disabilities. Please see the attached flyer for more information on the many opportunities.

The "College and Career Transitional Planning Guide for High School Students" is a CCSD publication to access parents and students with the transition process from High School to College.

College

The not-rich kid’s guide to graduating from college with almost no debt.

The College Board has made PSAT scores from the October administration of the test available through their website. Students should have received an email from the College Board with this information. Please note that the information bubbled on the PSAT forms MUST match your College Board account in order to access scores. Please contact the College Board at 866.433.7728 with any concerns

Les Femmes Douze is a community service organization that has been active in Las Vegas for over 50 years. They promote higher education, instill the value of community service, and promote cultural awareness. Young women who have participated in this organization have been awarded over $500,000 in scholarship money. Although the program originated for young Black women, it is open to all young women.

The Yale Young Global Scholars Program offers a variety of summer classes on the Yale campus. Students can expect an amazing summer experience studying in beautiful campus lecture halls and classrooms, living in Yale’s historic residential colleges, eating in award-winning dining halls, meeting a talented community of fellow students, engaging with world-renowned professors, and interacting with extraordinary visiting practitioners.

Financial Aid have deadlines for all applications. In addition many schools may need to complete the FAFSA application as part of the registration process.
