Important Dates
August 24, 2010 Freshman Orientation
11 am - 2 pm Freshmen students and their parents will meet for a short assembly in the main gym at 11:00am, followed by a meeting and tour for the students and a question and answer session for the parents in the school’s Theater with the school’s administration. Freshmen Orientation will end at 1:00pm, with students receiving their class schedule and locker information. Parents will have an opportunity to purchase yearbooks, freshmen shirts, and PE uniforms.

Senior Class Pictures Attention All Seniors: The last day to get your Senior Pictures if you want to be in the yearbook is Thursday, September 30. You must contact Bernhard & Williams at 251-3040, ext 9 to set up an appointment. This is the last day to be photographed, please do not delay.
Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery - CAREER EXPLORATION TESTING
10th. graders! - 11th. graders! -12th. graders!

TEST DATE: Wednesday, September 22nd., 2010
TEST TIME: 7:00AM to 10:00AM - Room #200

The ASVAB Career Exploration Exam is designed to help students learn about themselves and the world beyond. Students will be identifying, understanding, and organizing information about their interests, skills, and work-related values.They will be able to identify occupations to investigate and pursue based on their skills, and interests,and then apply this career information to further explore occupations. Lastly, the ASVAB is a good measure of how well students have/are develoiping in their academic and occupational skills at school, home, and within their community.
The ASVAB test is about aptitude and capability.

National Peace Essay Winner Congratulations to Gyu Yeun Kim for winning First Place in the National Peace Essay Contest. She was awarded a $1,000 college scholarship and invited to attend an awards program in Washington, D.C., incl. airfare, lodging, transp. & meals.
Football Honor Congratulations to football player Brandon Wright who was nominated to play in the 2011 US Army All-American Bowl on Sat. Jan. 8, 2011 in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas!

Photo Award Winner Congratulations go out to Ashlyn Kramer, winning honorable mention in the Nature category in the CCSD photo competition.
PVHS Students selected to CCSD Honor Jazz Band! Johnathan Feuerstein - Trumpet; Hazen Mayo - Trumpet; Jason Corpuz - Trumpet; Tracie Birch - Trombone. They will participate in the Honor Jazz weekend on May 7-8th. Come support these great musicians at their concert on Sat. May 8 @ 5 pm. Entrance is FREE.

Yearbooks

Due to exams and the closing of school procedures, yearbooks cannot be distributed during exams or after school. Ms. Resnick will be available on Wednesday ONLY, June 2, between 8:30am and 10:00 am for parents to come in and purchase or pick up a yearbook . Yearbooks are $100 CASH only and be purchased in room 213. After 10:00 am, Ms. Resnick will NOT be available and the yearbook account will be closed for the end of school. Any further inquiries can be made Mrs. Wayne, the school banker, on Tuesday, June 8 between 8am-12pm.
