Notetaking
Golden Rules of Notetaking
1. SHORT!
Develop your own system of shorthand, symbols, drawings and abbreviations.
2. IN YOUR OWN WORDS!
Read, think, then translate the information into your own "talk."
3. LABELED AND DATED!
When you come back to use your notes, it will be must easier if you have
written headings, titles and dates on them.
4. NEAT!
Write only on one side of the paper so that the print is easier to read.
Cursive is
faster, but if yours is sloppy, then print.
5. REVIEWED & REVISED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
The sooner you go over notes you have taken, the more information you will
understand and remember.
6. EASY TO FIND!
Keep notes in an organized way, such as a three-ring binder with sections
for
each subject, so that you can find them when you need them.
